We're hopping with excitement this weekend, because Easter Sunday is almost upon us! There's plenty to watch on the box, and the eggs are piled high in the corner, so we figured there was only one thing left to do: Pay homage to the legend that is the Easter Bunny. And sure what better way to do that, than to celebrate some of telly's best bunnies?
1. Bugs Bunny
Back in our day, there wasn't a child in the country who hadn't heard of good old Bugs Bunny. He graced many a TV screen of a Saturday morning, and sure didn't he encourage us to eat our carrots? We all cheered when he worked his way around 'cwafty wabbit hunter' Elmer Fudd, and enjoyed watching him bringing Daffy Duck down a peg or two...
2. Babs and Buster Bunny
If you were a child of the 90s, then you'll remember Tiny Toons, the pre-teens from Acme Acres who aimed to bring Looney Toons to a whole new generation. Babs and Buster Bunny were the show's answer to Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski, except, well, Babs was far smarter.
3. Benny Rabbit
You may not be familiar with the petulant porter/hotel bell hop from Sesame Street, but he certainly lit up many a TV screen, giving Oscar the grouch a run for his money.
4. Bunny Carr
A legend of Irish broadcasting, Bunny Carr is a name that will go down in history. The RTE host was at the helm of Teen Talk and Quicksilver (which totally had the best prizes going), before moving on to host Going Strong, a daytime show for the 'senior citizens'. All together now lads: STOP THE LIGHTS.
5. Sampras
There was quite the debate about what to call Father Dougal's new pet, before the err, precious priest finally settled for Pete Sampras. Never had a bunny wreaked such havoc...
Honourable Mentions: Baxter Bunny from Arthur, The Cadbury's Caramel Bunny, the rabbits from Farthing Wood, and Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit. The cartoon series one.
