Carrie Coon, best known for TV series The Leftovers and 2014 film Gone Girl, has been cast in a lead role in Fargo Season 3 where she will star opposite Ewan McGregor.
According to TVLine, she'll be playing Gloria Burgle, a police chief and newly divorced single mother, who's struggling to adapt to a world where people are more connected to their phones than they are to each other. She's also been described as a practical woman who "grabs the fire extinguisher when the bacon goes on fire and everyone else panics".
As was previously announced, season 3 will take place closer to the present than the previous two seasons (Season 1 was set in 2006), and McGregor will be playing twins, who lives have gone in very different directions.
The show is set to premiere in 2017, so still a while to wait.
