If you're a big Kiefer Sutherland fan then you'll already know that his latest TV series, Touch, was unceremoniously cancelled in the past few days, leaving the star free to take on a few other projects. One of those just so happens to be a brand new series of 24. Yes, you read that right, it looks as though Jack will be back.

There was quite the bit of hullabaloo on the internet yesterday as reports of the revival started to filter out, but Fox and Kiefer both kept schtum. That didn't stop Kim Bauer aka Elisha Cuthbert retweeting Deadline's report about the new series though, and when 24 Executive Producer David Fury took to the tweet machine himself, the cat, as Giovanni Trappatoni might say, was no longer in the sack.

"Yep, I'm pulling double duty along w/ TYRANT. Whoo & Hoo!" he tweeted, effectively confirming that a new series was in the works. This will be welcome news for fans of the show, who have been waiting quite a while for that 24 movie that just doesn't seem to be coming.

Fox has yet to confirm the reports, but sources close to the potential production have been telling Entertainment Weekly's Inside TV bloggers that the network is looking at a 13-episode order for the show. Could Jack be back for a miniseries?

Fox officially launches its new schedule on Monday, so we'll make sure to keep you posted.
