More episodes are on the way from two animated sitcom classics
While it hasn't been a great time for cinema of late, at least things are moving in TV and on demand. Two more seasons of adult animated sitcoms 'Family Guy' and 'Bob's Burgers' have been ordered to series. The shows are staples on channel Fox in the US.
'Family Guy' has been picked up for seasons 20 and 21 while 'Bob's Burgers' has been renewed for seasons 12 and 13.
They are some of Fox network's only scripted shows returning with new episodes this year.
Fox's President of Entertainment Michael Thorn said: "'Family Guy' and Bob's Burgers' are key pillars of our network’s success.
"By taking the genre to new heights and driving pop culture in meaningful ways, they’ve laid the foundation for making Animation Domination one of the most powerful program blocks in all of television.
"Both of these two-season renewals affirm once again our commitment to animation and empower us to continue in our build as the leader in the space with distinct and fresh new comedies.
"We’d like to thank [creators] Seth [MacFarlane], Loren [Bouchard] and their entire teams, not to mention our partners at 20th Television, and we’re excited to continue these great shows with them."
Both animated series will now run until at least 2023.
The renewal of the series follows 'The Simpsons', also from 20th Television, getting a season 31 and 32.
A 'Bob's Burgers' movie is also in the works. It hits cinemas on April 9, 2021.
