Spoilers ahead

The 'Game of Thrones' villain that is Euron Greyjoy is no more.

Euron Greyjoy was one of many characters on 'Game of Thrones' to die last night. Other major players included Cersei and Jaime Lannister, Varys and Sandor Clegane.

Euron died in combat with Jaime and believed himself to have been the undoing of the Kingslayer.

Pilou Asbæk, the man behind the King of the Iron Islands, told Vulture that he remembered the table read for the episode being "very emotional because a lot of people got chopped."

Regarding shooting the fight scene with Nikolaj Coster Waldau, he said:

"That was wonderful because Nikolaj and I are old friends, and he’s such a nice [guy] and I’ve known him for so many years. We’ve worked together in Denmark as well, so that was very emotional. The reason it was also very emotional was because it was Nikolaj’s last day of shooting Game of Thrones. He was wrapped after that fight, so when I said, “I’m the man who got Jaime Lannister,” it was also me saying, on a private level, I’m the man who did the final scene with Nikolaj."

Asbæk also opened up about a touchy issue for some 'Game of Thrones' fans.

Euron had managed to shoot down Rhaegal and kill him in last week's episode. However this week, his aim on the scorpion, his giant crossbow, proved completely off. Drogon was thus able to take the Iron Fleet fairly effortlessly.

Asbæk said he "didn't know" what had changed between the weeks, adding "Because they needed it for the story line?"

He continued:

"I think we had to take out one dragon so we level the fight just a little bit, and they caught her off guard. It was a sneak attack. That’s the reason why they could kill one of the dragons. But now she’s prepared and now she’s pissed, and if there’s one thing you don’t want, it’s the dragon mom pissed. She’s going to go fucking rogue man."
