Ellen DeGeneres' TV show could soon be coming to an end, with 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' waiting in the wings.

Although it's been rumoured for quite a while, it now looks as though Ellen DeGeneres' TV show may be coming to an end, with Kelly Clarkson standing by to assume the mantle of reigning daytime TV champ.

DeGeneres' current TV deal is set to expire at the end of this month, per a report by Page Six, with DeGeneres and her team set to try and renegotiate in the wake of accusations of workplace mistreatment and subsequent firings of producers.

As well as this, DeGeneres' ratings in the US have fallen in recent months, while 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' has now matched her ratings for the first time since the show began. As it stands, there appears to be some behind-the-scenes wrangling going on.

According to Page Six, the crux of the issue comes down to Ellen DeGeneres, who apparently wants out of the show - but she owns the rights to the show, meaning that anyone who comes in would have to completely revamp the format and relaunch the show. Not only that, the time slot which 'Ellen' currently occupies is extremely valuable, which is why 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' may end up swooping in on the slot.

So far, neither DeGeneres nor the show's producers, Telepictures, have publicly commented on what's ahead.
