Johnson will also star in every episode of 'Young Rock' too.

Although you may know him as the former wrestler-turned-actor-turned-mogul, Dwayne Johnson had a pretty colourful upbringing, to say the least.

For one, his father was Rocky Johnson, a famous wrestler in his own right and one-half of the first black tag-team to win the WWF Tag Team Championship. His mother was Ata Johnson-Maivia, the daughter of famous wrestling promoter Peter Maivia, who was a High Chief in Samoa.

As well as this, Johnson lived in New Zealand, Hawai'i, as well as Nashville, Pennsyvlania, and was arrested multiple times for fighting, theft and even check fraud before he got into high-school football and became a prospect for NFL teams before eventually moving into professional wrestling.

Well, with all this material, there's a new sitcom on the way based on The Rock's early life titled - you guessed it - 'Young Rock'. The idea has been ordered straight-to-series, with an 11-episode order starting the whole thing off.

As it stands, it's not yet known if the series will cross over to the side of the Atlantic, but given how Dwayne Johnson has global brand recognition, it seems silly not to try and see if it can be done. Currently, there's no air date set for 'Young Rock', however it is known that the series is being written and produced by Nahnatchka Khan, who previously created TV comedy hits like 'Don't Trust The B--- In Apartment 23' and 'Fresh Off The Boat'.

Our guess is it'll be something along the lines of 'Everybody Hates Chris', which was a cracking example of a sitcom based on early life, and it had everyone's favourite TV dad of the decade, Terry Crews, in there as well. Come on, like. Just look at this.
