The 'Dexter' revival has a new title
The serial killer is back 10 years later, and his past is about to catch up with him...
He can run as much as he wants, but he can't escape who he really is. The 'Dexter' revival series from Showtime has a brand new title - 'Dexter: New Blood' - and the first trailer of the series has been released.
Season nine of the hit series starring Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan sees us catch up with him under his new pseudonym Jim Lindsay. Living in rural Oregon, it seems that he's having a hard time letting go of his nighttime occupation of murdering people who "deserve" to be served up some justice. We also catch a glimpse of Julia Jones, who will star as Dexter’s love interest Angela Bishop.
The trailer for the upcoming season debuted during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con@Home this weekend. Former series showrunner Clyde Phillips, who returns to helm this new season, said during the panel: "It was important that this not be 'Dexter' season 9. We wanted to acknowledge that nearly 10 years have passed and we pick up with Dexter being in another place far away from Miami."
Both John Lithgow and Jennifer Carpenter will be reprising their roles in the series for brief cameos, appearing as reminders of Dexter's bloody past - but both as absent from the trailer.
Here's the trailer.
There's been no confirmation yet where 'Dexter: New Blood' will air over this side of the Atlantic. However, Sky and NOW have the boxset of all eight seasons of the 'Dexter series available, so chances are that they will carry this new season.
'Dexter: New Blood' arrives on November 7.
