Staggered starting times... Whaaaaa?!
Some contestants achieved some pretty fantastical baking creations - while others floundered in a sea of runny custard.
Custard week in the 'Bake Off' tent proved to be one of the best episodes of the series, with the six bakers taking on a floating island signature, an ice-cream technical and a set custard gateaux for their showstoppers.
The biggest change-up for the epsisode was that for the first time ever, the blind technical challenge featured a staggered staring time for the bakers. Sandro started off the task in an empty tent, which felt all kinds of weird, while his fellow contestants sheepishly shuffled in every few minutes. The reason for the different starting times was so each contestants' pistachio and praline ice-cream and wafers could be judged the fairest way possible before melting all over the place.
Controversially, viewers thought that it should have been a different Star Baker this week. Syabira won the title for the second time in a row, but many felt that it was Sandro's week to take home the title, which would have also been his second time.
Sadly, one person had to leave, and it seemed it was pretty neck and neck between Janusz and Kevin. Unfortunately, even though Kevin impressed with the herbal flavours of his custerdy gateaux, he was the casualty of the evening.
With only three episodes left, who will make it to the final?
Custard week on 'Bake Off' might have proven to be a series best, but let's not forget the most memorable custard moment in 'Bake Off' history - that time Deborah accidentally used Howard's custard instead of her own - and thus, #Custardgate was born.
