Sherlock fans will be happy to hear that Benedict Cumberbatch has no plans on leaving his crime solving character any time soon, and will keep going with it as long as he is being challenged by the role. Watson will be delighted his side kick isn't running off anywhere again any time soon so!
Following the conclusion of series three stateside, the star told USA Today: "I'll keep doing it as long as [Sherlock grows], as long as I feel he's developing and there's stuff we're all being challenged by and that it's being loyal to the original stories as well."
Series three was greeted by mixed reaction over this side of the Atlantic, with many feeling it showed way too much of a softer side of Sherlock. But look, him and Watson have a very special type of bromance that the world simply needed to know about!
The actor went on to credit the role for giving him so many career opportunities: "[The show has] done a lot. I won't say it's changed my life, because I had a huge break at the same time as this role first came to fruition."
"It was a sort of perfect storm of all mediums coming together at the same time, television, film and theater, even some radio."
