Netflix original series The Crown has the honour of being the most expensive TV series ever made and has proved a hit on the streaming service with Claire Foy earning a Golden Globe and a SAG award for her portrayal of a young Queen Elizabeth II.
The show has recently finished filming its second season, and the plan is, each season will reflect a decade in the queen's life, however, they are not planning on adding a load of makeup and prosthetics to their lead characters, who also include Matt Smith as Prince Philip and John Lithgow as Churchill, but instead will recast the main characters.
Speaking at the BFI & Radio Times Festival over the weekend however, Foy said she was 'relieved' she wouldn't have to play the role for the next few years: "That's it, I'm on the bench. I'm not even on the bench – I'm just in a different team on my own, unemployed! We're gone, we're gone.
"That's not a shock – we always knew when we signed up to it, and also not to be funny but it's also a real plus," she added.
"As an actor there's nothing worse than the sound of 'seven years'. I'm sure to some people it sounds amazing but to us it's like, seven years of playing the same person? And this is a tough job, you know?
The actress went on to say: "It's long, a good nine-monther. And that's a lot of your life that you sign over to it."
However, she also said: "I'm going to miss it terribly. But I just can't wait to see where it goes, I just can't wait."
You can see Claire in her final season as Queen Elizabeth II - which will cover the period between 1955 and 1964 - when The Crown returns to Netflix in November 2017.
