Is this strange? Maybe not, we just figured judging on these talent shows was more what you did when your career was at sinking point and you desperately needed a life line. Surely the Coldplay frontman has enough to be keeping him busy?
Maybe he just really wants to help people get their talent out there... or else they just offered him a shit load of money. The musician will act as a mentor and artistic advisor to his contestants on the NBC series, which is pretty much the same as our one, and the UK one, so you know how it works.
Past mentors on US Voice have included Alanis Morissette, Cher and Kelly Clarkson, and Chris will be joining the current panel with Shakira, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Blake Shelton, and Usher. He will be in good company I suppose, and there are plenty that wouldn't blink twice at Chris's decision to do this. It IS exceptionally cool to not like Coldplay or anything they do, lest we forget. Just figured he might be (just a bit, OKAY) too cool for this, but guess we were wrong.
Chris is to work with @adamlevine @blakeshelton @usher & @shakira as a Key Adviser on this season's US #TheVoice. A pic.twitter.com/18vHNXheg8
