The series' return has been confirmed
Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
US TV network NBC's newly revealed slate for the upcoming autumn/spring season included new episodes for 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' season eight this autumn, fans will be happy to hear. The Andy Samberg comedy will be released weekly on Thursday nights in the States, and will hopefully air over here on E4 shortly afterwards.
Season seven of the hit cop-comedy wrapped up in April this year, and since then the topic of police officers has been an important point of discussion. However, the similarities between the cast on 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' and real-life police force is few and far between, and the show should still remain one of the best comedies to grace our screens in recent years.
Terry Crews, who plays family man Terry Jeffords on the show, recently spoke out about current affairs in the real world being addressed in the upcoming series. The subject of Black Lives Matter will be a topic in the forthcoming season, with the actor saying:Â "We had some sombre talks and some really, really eye-opening conversation about how to handle this new season."
Other plot points that will certainly be raised throughout the new season will be Jake Peralta (Samberg) dealing with fatherhood, and how he and Amy juggle their work/family time. So hopefully, there's still plenty of laughs in store for fans of the show.
