Stars such as Miley Cyrus, Hayley Williams, Sarah Jessica Parker and more have voiced their support of the singer
A new documentary based on the pop superstar Britney Spears debuted on FX in the USA last weekend.
'Framing Britney Spears' is also available on Hulu in the States now.
The doc brings the singer's troubled past into a new light.
It highlights how since 2008, Britney Spears' father Jamie has retained power over both her personal life, business and financial decisions as conservator of her person and her estate.
The documentary also explores the cruelties of celebrity culture and toxic environments that the pop artist has been forced to endure.
Samantha Stark directed the feature, which tracks the highs and lows of Britney's life and career. This includes her shooting to fame as a child star, and shaving her head when the tabloid attention became overwhelming.
Another element of the documentary that has gained much attention is its examination of how Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's break-up affected her.
The #FreeBritney movement has gained much traction from her fans online since the doc dropped.
A number of celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Hayley Williams, Sarah Jessica Parker and more have voiced their support of the singer.
During Miley's pre-show Super Bowl performance, she called out "Hey, we love Britney!" after the "Party in the USA" lyric "and a Britney song was on."

Like I said, I’ve always had soft spot for Britney Spears. But the NYT documentary radicalized me. I’m so angry. #FreeBritney
