Whether you love or hate the often crass but never dull mammy, the popularity of Brendan O'Carroll’s Mrs Brown character is undeniable.
The series Mrs Brown’s Boys, aside from Christmas specials, is now finished, but the character as well as her family (who are related to O’Carroll IRL as well as providing supporting characters to the Brown family) still perform on stage at home and abroad.
Now it would seem they’ll be hitting the small screen again on a new Saturday night chat show which will air on BBC1 in February.
The new entertainment show, All Round To Mrs Brown's, will see characters from the popular sitcom such as Buster, Winnie, and of course Mrs Brown herself invite celebrities and members of the public into their home.
It is set to be recorded in front of a live studio audience, and a pilot episode, which is not intended for broadcast, was recorded on September 20th.
It is believed that tennis star Andy Murray's mother, Judy, was interviewed by O’Carroll.
A source told the Irish Daily Star that the pilot went very well: ‘The pilot was a brilliant success. I don't think Brendan expected it to be such a hit.
‘Brendan is doing the interviewing, but then some of the cast members of Mrs Brown's Boys will also be on the show too and joining in with interviewing.’
That's nice.
