This is probably a good thing, he could really do with a back up plan considering what a flop that Mrs Brown's Boys was....
It seems Brendan O'Carroll has decided to make hay while the sun shines and is currently penning another comedy series for the BBC based on a play.
The comedian told Radio Times last night; "We are working on a pilot of my very first play, called The Course. The story's about a man who gives a positive mental attitude course to complete losers in the effort to try and get them to sell insurance door to door. It should be fun!
"I have to say there's other stuff I want to do, and there's other stuff the BBC want me to do," he continued. "Maybe we'll try something. If it doesn't work we'll go back to Mrs Brown!"
Hey look, if he can make a man dressed up as an Irish mammy an international success, pretty sure he can make this work.
O'Carroll picked up the National Television Award for Best Comedy for a third year running last night, and was quick to assure that this new show did not mean the end to Mrs Brown; "The nice thing about the series is that we can drop in and out any time we like because we keep Mrs Brown kind of warm with the Christmas specials."
Looks like Brendan O'Carroll isn't going anywhere any time soon so, and we're kind of happy for the fecker because of that.
