The contestants of the reality series have had no idea what's going on
'Big Brother Canada' has been airing for about two weeks now. The contestants have been unaware of the extent of the coronavirus aka COVID-19 spread, until now.
Live eviction audiences were already banned due to the pandemic.
Now it seemed the right time to tell the houseguests of the reality series just how serious the global phenomenon has become.
14 contestants remain on the reality TV series.
As a result of them being in the isolated house with no contact from the outside world, they've no idea what's going on globally.
In a strange but solemn moment, they are gathered on the sofa and told what is happening.
All look worried and a few express concern for their family's safety. However all are informed that their loved ones have been reached out to and they are safe and healthy. You can imagine it can't be easy for them to not reach out to their friends and family at this time.
Watch the moment unfold below.
None of the houseguests chose to leave the Big Brother house as a result of the announcement.
Currently, 'Big Brother Canada' continues filming for several more weeks.
The finale is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 21st.
