Both spin-offs are headed to digital platforms
AMC has announced that spin-offs to 'The Walking Dead' and 'Better Call Saul' are on the way. Both series as well as the show 'Killing Eve' will air their final seasons next year.
'Better Call Saul' is itself a spin-off to the hit series 'Breaking Bad'.
'Slippin Jimmy' will be an animated spin-off set in the same universe and is currently in development.
Set many years before the events of 'Saul', it is said to set in the home of young Jimmy and Chuck McGill in Cicero, Illinois.
The series is reportedly being created in the "retro style of Fat Albert."
Each episode pays homage "to everything from spaghetti Westerns to Buster Keaton to 'After Hours'."
AMC has also given the green light to 'Dead in the Water'.
The scripted series ties into season 6 of 'Fear the Walking Dead'.
It relates the story of a submarine crew fighting for survival.
The network is also developing 'Cooper’s Bar', which is "about a “unique watering hole located in the backyard of one man’s bungalow."
It comes from executive producer Rhea Seehorn, who plays Kim Wexler on 'Saul'.
Another programme in the works is a 'Walking Dead'-inspired cooking show featuring cuisines from the apocalypse.
It's titled 'Run the Dish', and AMC are partnering with the producers of Hot Ones for it.
The company is in discussions with 'Eve' producers about possible content related to that series as well.
The 'Better Call Saul' spin-off and other projects are digital original series that can air on "YouTube, IGTV, SVOD, AVOD and FAST channels", reports Variety.
AMC Networks executives plan to visit different media agencies about the projects the week of April 5th
