Yes, please
Benedict Cumberbatch has been asked about returning to 'Sherlock', again, but he hasn't totally brushed the idea aside.
The actor is the cover of the next issue of 'Esquire'. It's been a busy year for Cumberbatch between starring in 'The Courier' and filming 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'.
In December, he stars in both 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and 'The Power of the Dog'.
He also has biopic 'The Electrical Life of Louis Wain', which he stars in opposite Claire Foy, on the way.
Benedict Cumberbatch also loaned his voice, reprising the role of Doctor Strange, in 'What If...?' this year, but the series he's most renowned and critically acclaimed for is 'Sherlock'.
Debuting in 2010, fans of the show were last treated to new episodes in 2017.
Esquire asked about the show coming back to which its lead answered: "It wouldn’t be fair on anyone else involved – I’m not going to be drawn into that. No, no, no."
However with a little persistence on the interviewer's part, the actor continued: "Oh look, I still say never say never. You know, I really like that character… it’s just, the circumstances need to be right and I think maybe it’s too soon now to see it have another life.
"I think, wonderful as it is, it’s had its moment for now. But that’s not to say it wouldn’t have another iteration in the future."
Cumberbatch was also asked about how he'd feel about a new Holmes and Watson being cast, to which he answered: "That’s not for me to comment on."
Oooof.
