BBC celebrates sixty years of comedy next year with the anniversary of Hancock's Half Hour - the first sitcom on British TV. To mark the occasion they are set to bring back some of the old classics and transform them into modern day versions.

It was announced earlier in the week that Porridge would be returning, but it's also been revealed that a remake of popular sitcom 'Keeping Up Appearances' has been ordered. The updated version will be a prequel of sorts to the comedy which ran from 1990 to '95 and will show a young Hyacinth before she became Hyacinth 'Bouquet', as she called herself.

Not sure how well we will cope seeing anyone other than Patricia Routledge as the 'lady of the house', but we would like to know how herself and dear Richard came to be.

The BBC have also announced they are remaking 'The Good Life', 'Are You Being Served?', as well as a new version of 'Up Pompeii!' being ordered.

It will be a nostalgia overload essentially! Can't wait.
