With Aisling Bea nabbing the Breakthrough Talent Award

The Bafta TV nominations have arrived, and the 'Chernobyl' miniseries leads the pack with 14 nominations.

'Chernobyl' gripped viewers when it arrived last year on Sky Atlantic, and the series based on the nuclear power plant disaster in 1986 is out in front in terms of Bafta TV nominations this year. Netflix’s 'The Crown' has received seven nominations, Phoebe Waller-Bridge's 'Fleabag' is on six nods, while Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' first series on BBC One has received five nominations. Netflix also received nominations for the dramatisation of the harrowing real-life happenings of 'When They See Us', and the documentary miniseries 'Don't F**k with Cats'.

In terms of Irish talent, Graham Norton has once again been nominated in the categories of Entertainment Performance and Comedy Entertainment Programme for 'The Graham Norton Show', while Aisling Bea has been nominated for the Breakthrough Talent Award. She has received this for her work as the writer of 'This Way Up' which she starred in with Sharon Horgan.

Bea sent out a fittingly strong tweet following the announcement. Potato waffles all round.
