The award-winning series is on the return
Two of Ireland's funniest women will be gifting us with plenty more laughs.
Created and executive produced by Aisling Bea, the incredibly charming 'This Way Up' has been given a second season return over at Channel 4. Earlier this year, Bea bagged the Breakthrough Talent BAFTA Craft award for writing series one.
The comedy series was one of 2019's best shows, and we here at entertainment.ie are delighted that it will be back once again. Featuring Bea's trademark wit, she stars as a TELF teacher who might have had just a bit of a nervous breakdown.
Sharon Horgan, who also served as executive producer, plays her older sister in the series too, and the pair together is a match made in comedy heaven.
Speaking on the news of her creation getting a second season, Aisling Bea offered up a trademark witty remark: "I am over the moon that our little baby 'This Way Up' gets to grow up and start school. Thanks to its grandparents Channel 4 and Hulu for paying its school fees and to my wonderful team, crew and cast for helping bring it to life the first time round.
"I hope you love seeing where Aine and Shona have moved on to. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has offered myself and Sharon large record deals since hearing us sing 'Zombie' and please wear a mask literally, but drop your metaphorical one."
TV production company Merman helped get the series to screen, and this morning tweeted the news to their followers.
