Actor John Corbett comfirmed his return as Aidan Shaw, the one that got away...
Hopes are high for the 'Sex and the City' reboot 'And Just Like That...' though the absence of Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones is disappointing. Still, the news of the return of this regular has us feeling more optimistic...
Actor John Corbett, also renowned for his role in 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding', will reprise his role as Aidan Shaw in the 'Sex and the City' reboot series.
Aidan was for a time engaged to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). However they broke it off, Carrie feeling unprepared for marriage. She ultimately settled down with Mr. Big (Chris Noth).
There was much drama between Carrie and Aidan, who shared an on again off again relationship throughout the show.
The last time we saw the characters together was in the movie 'Sex and the City 2' during which they shared a kiss, for which Big ultimately forgave Carrie.
It was Corbett himself who confirmed the return of his character.
Speaking to Page Six, he said: "I’m going to do the show" adding that the news is "very exciting for him."
Corbett is unsure of how many episodes he'll star in but he did say "I think I might be in quite a few."
He also said, regarding the cast and crew: "I like all those people, they’ve been very nice to me."
Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are all set to return and reprise their roles of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbs and Charlotte York, respectively, in 'And Just Like That...'.
Regarding the return of Mr. Big, actor Chris Noth has hinted on on social media that he could have a role, after reports suggested he wouldn't be returning, noting that "everything changes—including announcements in the rags."
But this is yet to be officially confirmed.
The return of Steve Brady, who is Miranda’s husband and Aidan’s business partner, also seems ambiguous.
The actor behind the character, David Eigenberg, told E! News in March that "they have called me", adding that he was "pretty sure" he’d be in the revival.
'And Just Like That...' will consist of ten episodes and premiere on HBO Max.
