Just earlier today, it was reported that Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson had been suspended from the hit show due to an altercation on set. The incident reportedly involved Gibson kicking a writer/producer.
The argument had arisen over a creative dispute over the script and now it would seem he is not only suspended but fired.
ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios said in a statement, ‘Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from ‘Criminal Minds. Creative details for how the character’s exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date.’
The actor’s character of Special Agent Aaron Hotchner featured in the CBS drama as far back as when the show debuted in 2005.
Digital Spy reported that Gibson responded to the news through his spokesperson, who said, ‘I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last twelve years.
‘I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won't be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.’
