While the Game of Thrones season seven finale may have given us all the drama we wanted, it was admittedly a little light on sense and heavy on the convenience plot-wise.
And while we enjoyed that twist at Winterfell, there were a lot of questions raised by the end of it, namely why were Sansa and Arya at each other all season long when no one was around to see them if they were plotting to turn the tables on Littlefinger all along?
Well it turns out there was a scene between Sansa and Bran that was left on the cutting room floor that would have gone a long way to explaining how and why Sansa was able to put all the pieces together.
Speaking to Variety, Hampstead-Wright said:
"We actually did a scene that clearly got cut, a short scene with Sansa where she knocks on Bran’s door and says, ‘I need your help,’ or something along those lines. So basically, as far as I know, the story was that it suddenly occurred to Sansa that she had a huge CCTV department at her discretion and it might be a good idea to check with him first before she guts her own sister. So she goes to Bran, and Bran tells her everything she needs to know, and she’s like, ‘Oh, sh*t.'"
Bran had no problem explaining everything about Jon's parentage to Sam in the finale and seeing as that was the crux of the episode, we can understand why the Sansa scene was cut. And if we're being honest, we did enjoy the surprise.
