We didn't think there were any unhappy customers of Dermot Bannon's, but it turns out back in a 2009 series of Room to Improve, there was. Perhaps he didn't give her enough windows? Was there no obligatory atrium? Surely not.

Mary Moore from Rathcoole in South County Dublin featured on the architecture's show in one of its earlier series', and Dermot and the gang renovated her three-bedroom home. However, Mary was not at all happy with their work, claiming that remedial works were needed afterwards to repair the property.

She took High Court proceedings seeking damages against Bannon, the show's producers, and the building firm that carried out the work. All claims were denied, but the case was heard today and has been settled with Mary receiving €100,000 in damages.

Not too shabby for Mary, although Patricia won't be happy with those sums. Nobody puts Dermot in the corner.
