We do love a good drama and with the likes of Love/Hate and Downton Abbey back on our TV screens every Sunday night we've been spoiled for choice of late, but RTE, ITV and BBC aren't the only ones who make a decent drama, as the folks from Sky look set to show us this year.
Gone are the days when Sky was known as the channel that brought us The Simpsons after swimming of a Friday evening. Now that the broadcaster has thoroughly branched out, it is producing some seriously good original drama for our viewing pleasure.
Here are just five brand new Sky dramas we can't wait to watch:
1. The Tunnel
What's it all about?
If you're familiar with Scandinavian drama The Bridge, or indeed it's US reboot, then The Tunnel will sound fairly familiar. Set in The Channel Tunnel, this French/UK co-production tells the tale of a pair of police detectives who are trying to solve the mysterious murder of a prominent Fran politician on the border between, you guessed it, France and The United Kingdom. Detectives Karl Roebuck and Elise Wassermann are sent to investigate on behalf of their respective countries, but when the case takes an interesting turn they're forced into an uneasy partnership.
Who's in it?
Oh y'know, just Game of Thrones heavyweight Stephen Dillane and the positively enchanting Clemence Poesy (Harry Potter or Birdsong ring any bells?). No biggie.
When's it on?
Catch The Tunnel on Sky Atlantic HD from October 16th.
2. Dracula
What's it all about?
Well now, you might be thinking this one's obvious, but you're in for a bit of a surprise. Sky Living HD's Dracula puts a bit of a twist on the tale: The Count comes to England posing an American entrepreneur who just wants to teach the English a thing or two about modern science. Little do they know, he's actually hoping to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life a few centuries earlier. That'd all be pretty simple business for him, if it wasn't for the woman who's the spitting image of his centuries dead wife...
Who's in it?
Our own Jonathan Rhys Meyers takes the lead as the infamous vampire while Jessica De Gouw plays the marvelous Mina Murray. Keep your eyes peeled for Victoria Smurfit and Merlin's Morgana, Katie McGrath, in supporting roles.
When's it on?
Catch Dracula on Sky Living HD from October 31st.
3. Fleming
What's it all about?
In the words of Sky Atlantic HD, this brand new four part drama takes a "no-holds-barred look at Ian Fleming, the man behind the James Bond legend whose real life was as exciting, eventful and sexually charged as his famous creation". Sure didn't the man who gave us Bond have a bit of a licence to thrill himself?
Who's in it?
History Boy and Captain America alumn (Howard Stark to be precise) Dominic Cooper plays the spy turned Bond and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang author, while Sherlock siren Lara Pulver (getting THE Woman to play the woman is a pretty smart move) joins him as Baroness Anne O'Neill, Fleming's one-time lady love.
When's it on?
An exact air date has yet to be confirmed but Fleming is due on Sky Atlantic in January 2014.
4. Moonfleet

Their journey takes them from 18th Century Dorset, to the Jewel quarter of The Hague and on to a gripping, final sea voyage.
Who's in it?

Expect a bit of a twist on your standard 'fire drama': The White Watch crew have more baggage than Heathrow Airport.
