The footage was taken from a flight simulator, although it looks pretty realistic
If you happened to watch the clip of a Lufthansa flight coming to an EXTREMELY bumpy landing that's been doing the rounds on Twitter, you'd be forgiven for swearing off air travel forever.
The shocking video seems to show a plane coming in to land on an unidentified runway, doing a huge belly flop and narrowly missing another smaller plane that is parked horizontally on the runway.
It then skids, turns and narrowly avoids rolling before coming to an eventual stop.

However, the good news is that it's not real - although it certainly looks like it it; it's taken from a flight simulator, and even we were taken in upon first viewing.
The dead giveaway is the fact that nothing breaks off the plane (or goes on fire), despite hitting the tarmac extremely hard. In fact, if you look closely, you'll see one of the engines actually sinking into the 'ground' at one point.
So, in short: fake news.
This guy's reaction pretty much sums it up:
My initial reaction was "HOLY #$@#$" until I watched it more closely and noticed that the engines disappeared INTO the ground and came out unfazed. Clearly, this is fake but man it got my heart going initially.
