Sodden. Everything is sodden. And if you wee unfortunate enough to have to endure some sort of outdoor activities this festive season we've got bad news for you because the great wettening of 2015 isn't over yet.
As rain continues to fall over the country, Met Eireann have issued a yellow weather warning for Munster and Leinster until 7pm today, with 15mm to 25mm of rain expected in Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry and Waterford, with the heaviest rain on high ground which may lead to flooding in places.
According to Met Éireann forecaster Pat Clarke, we'll be seeing more of the same that December has given us as the wet weather continues.
"It's been quite variable, mild in some areas and quite cold in others. It was mild in the south and east with above-normal temperatures," he said. "However, it's been a fairly wet Christmas overall, following on from a wet month."
And to make it even better, tonight is going to hit the minus temps, which means dense fog and icy roads. And the week ahead up to the New Year is more of the same. Basically, don't go anywhere. Unless it's to get more food and fuel for the fire.
