Stars have been paying tribute to the late actor.
Willie Garson, who is most famous for playing Stanford Blatch in the TV series 'Sex and the City', has passed away.
According to sources, information about the cause of the late actor's death has not been officially released. However, according to 'Sex and the City' executive producer Michael Patrick King, the 57-year-old had recently been sick.
Willie Garson was a fan favourite on our screens as Carrie Bradshaw’s closest male friend during the TV series and both of its sequel movies. He was also expected to be appearing in the upcoming HBO sequel series 'And Just Like That'.
Garson was also known for roles in a number of TV series and films over the years, including 'Friends', 'Ally McBeal', 'Being John Malkovich', 'Groundhog Day' and 'Twin Peaks'.
His son, Nathen Garson, shared a touching post about his father on his Instagram account. He wrote: "You’ll always be with me. Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now."
HBO released a statement about the late actor, which reads: "Willie Garson was in life, as on screen, a light for everyone in his universe. He created one of HBO's most beloved characters and was a member of our family for nearly 25 years. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend condolences to his family and loved ones."
Garson's 'Sex and the City' co-star Cynthia Nixon shared on Twitter: "So deeply, deeply sad we have lost Willie Garson. We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore. He was a consummate professional— always."
