If you want to know how the other half lives, this auction for Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi last week will give you an inkling.
The masterpiece, billed as the "biggest discovery of the 21st century", broke the world record as the most expensive painting ever sold at an auction, with a 19-minute bidding battle culminating in the work going for the tidy sum of $450,312,500 (including buyer’s premium).
The auction house wouldn't reveal the identity of the buyer or even the region from which they came, but a video has been released showing the painting being sold, take a look below:
