Saoirse Ronan and Greta Gerwig are goals.
The actress and actress-turned-writer/director have not only produced a wonderful, moving film in Lady Bird but the two seem to have nothing but love and respect for one another.
The critically acclaimed feature Lady Bird is up for Best Musical/Comedy, Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy, Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress at this weekend’s Golden Globes. Ahead of the awards, Ronan and Gerwig were interviewed at a TimesTalks chat at New York's Kaufman Music Center yesterday.
There were several highlights from the talk, including when Ronan got emotional talking about how Gerwig has inspired her to pursue directing:
"[Saoirse]'s gonna direct." - Greta
"You know, that's because of you though." - Saoirse
Then both of them start getting teary. This is one of my favorite videos. Their friendship is so precious. ðŸ˜ðŸ–¤ pic.twitter.com/6YFWU5kNYq

The pair of them also talked about how they first met:
The story of how Greta and Saoirse met and how their paths crossed before that lol. pic.twitter.com/Kxz7bE3Bqz

There was also this lovely gal pal moment:
It's not the first time Saoirse mentions that she wants to work with Greta again and it probably won't be the last lol. She did it twice during this interview. The second time, which is this one, was pretty funny hahaha. pic.twitter.com/Kty0KijLDY

Ronan also reflected on witnessing harassment and sexism on set as a child star during the talk.
