It's that time of year again: time for the NFL to blaze into our lives in a huge fireball of commercialism, promotion and glory. There may be some sports played also.
Anyway, while we await things kicking off for realz, we'll have to make do with the stars of the game appearing in different advertisements, and it's going to be hard to top this one from Gatorade featuring Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
In it, an unsuspecting customer is just trying to buy some Gatorade when she's greeted by a very unhelpful store clerk who points out that she doesn't appear to be sweating, and therefore can't purchase the Gatorade. She hasn't put in the requisite effort.
Duly, the manager appears, who is legendary NFL star Peyton Manning. She doesn't twig that, but possibly because Peyton makes a very, very convincing store manager, right down to the short sleeved shirt.
Gotta get that back sweat going. There are a whole series of these ads, and while that one is the best one, there's even an appearance from another NFL superstar in the form of Cam Newton.
There is, of course the chance that these aren't real and the whole thing is a set-up, but we'd like to believe in the good people at Gatorade. Why would they lie to us? What would they have to gain?
