Many of you might not yet be familiar with the name Cathal Pendred. The reality of the situation is that he is one of Ireland's best sportsmen, an athlete at the absolute top of his game on the world stage and set to be a major star in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

Pendred, a 25 year old welterweight from Dublin and former rugby teammate of Cian Healy, sports a professional MMA record of 13-2 and is the reigning Cage Warriors Welterweight champion. He recently stopped UFC veteran Che Mills in the third round of a fight at the Helix in Glasnevin and now hopes to make his UFC debut at the promotion's August 17th card in Boston, alongside compatriot Conor McGregor.

MTV spent some time trailing Pendred ahead of the Mills fight and what resulted was a really open and honest look at one of Ireland's most dedicated athletes. Check it out here and let us know your thoughts.
