Luis Suarez has done it again. The Liverpool forward, who completed a ten game ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic in April 2013, appears to have bitten Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's 1-0 victory over the Italians in today's World Cup Group D match.
Suarez wasn't reprimanded by the referee, who obviously missed the incident, but FIFA will likely impose retrospective punishment on the player and his future participation in this World Cup is in question.
Suarez earned the nickname 'The Cannibal' during his time in the Netherlands with Ajax Amsterdam after a similar biting incident and player will now likely face a media maelstrom after this latest incident. Speculation had intensified in recent days that Real Madrid and Barcelona were to do battle for his signature this summer but some are claiming that the two Spanish giants will think twice now, given the massive liability he represents on the pitch.
There is little denying that Luis Suarez is a fantastically talented player on the pitch but his emotional instability and inability to handle pressure on a football pitch threatens to eclipse his supreme talent.
