There's just something in our eye...
Luis Suárez is a character who gets talked about a lot for his actions on the pitch, but it's has often been noted that when he leaves the field of play, he's a totally different person. That side of him came to the fore recently in a short video that he shot with the Fundación Pérez Scremini, an organistaion in Uruguay that helps children who are fighting cancer.
Maeto, a huge Barcelona fan who has been battling the disease for the last two years, was told that he was going into the hospital to talk with an expert doctor from Spain, but on the other end of the line for the call was his hero, Luis Suárez. The two have a great chat, and Suárez promises to bring him a signed shirt that he wore during a match if Mateo listens to his doctors and does everything they ask.
This is not the only time Suarez has helped the foundation or made an extra effort to get in contact with the foundation, as he has visited the kids when he was back home recently to lift their spirits and sign a few autographs.
