We really do wish that Jon Stewart was still on the air. Maybe that could have stopped all of this madness.
Stewart opened the 10th Annual 'Stand Up For Heroes' benefit, an event held in New York to help support veterans and their families, last night by starting on with the election because how could he have started with anything else.
"To be here tonight with you guys, my heroes, on the eve of the last American election is so exciting," Stewart began, before sharing his disbelief at the current state of the nation, saying, ""But if I could ask you a question that I've been saying to my television, it's 'What the fuck? What the fuck is going on? What is happening?!'"
Stewart then went on to tell the audience about the time he got into a Twitter war with Donald Trump, or as he calls it, "The Day I Woke Up to Find Out Somebody Was Tweeting Weird Shit About Me."
We won't spoil it for you, but let's just say it's one hell of a story and shows that Trumps online behaviour is nothing new.
Stewart ended by telling the veterans and their families gathered to "Vote wisely this November."
