A New York sporting legend retires this year in the form of Derek Jeter, and Nike have put together a celebrity-laden tribute to him to mark the occasion.

After a career that spanned 20 years in the big leagues, Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees is hanging up the cleats and the glove this year, and there's no doubt that he will be missed by fans of the sport, not just Yankees fans.

With that in mind, the Jordan/Nike clothing line that Jeter is a face of put together a star-studded ad, featuring the likes of Jay Z, Billy Crystal, Tiger Woods and Spike Lee, all tipping their hat to 'The Captain'.

They even included a few Red Sox fans (who do generally respect Jeter, despite the heated rivalry between the two teams) and a couple of Mets players, along with a certain mascot, who had their faces blurred. it's a little bit self-indulgent, which is not really Jeter's style, but if you can't bask in your own glory when you're retiring, when can you be? Anyway, we all know he's a bi-racial angel.
