Seacrest's presence on the red carpet had come under attack following the allegations of sexual misconduct against him and while people online decided Henson was subtly confronting Seacrest, she says otherwise.

Seacrest was asking Henson about Mary J. Blige's two Oscar nominations when she took a beat and saying "You know, the universe has a way of taking care of the good people," before putting a finger under his chin and continuing, saying "You know what I mean?".

Her apparent shade seemed to be confirmed by her reaction to the interview immediately after Seacrest, where she said the following.

The reaction on Twitter was swift, with everyone deciding that Henson's comments were precisely chosen and pointed.

Henson, however, has told PEOPLE that her comments were "misconstrued."

"I did it to keep his chin up. It’s an awkward position to be in. He’s been cleared but anyone can say anything," she said, adding that she was "absolutely" supporting Seacrest.

The E! host himself tweeted that he has "nothing but love" for Henson following their interview.
