The key to not winding up with egg on yisser face is to - wait for it - "smell yer eggs". Given the deficit between Tatum and Fallon (who has a total "BUT IT'S MY SHOW" hissier towards the end) at the end of the game it's a tried and tested method that does work. 
 
It's not quite Tatum muttering eight hateful things into a kitten's face, but it's up there.
