Now that the smoke has cleared from the UFC's hugely satisfying visit to The O2 a couple of weekends ago we feel it only right to point out that you needn't wait 'til Dana White brings his fight promotion back to Ireland for some top mixed martial arts action, there is plenty of top MMA action happening right under your very nose.

Cage Warriors, the top MMA promotion in Europe, returns to The Helix in Dublin for a full fight card featuring some of the top fighting prospects in Europe on Saturday, 16th August.

Donegal man Joseph Duffy (10-1) returns to action in the evening's main event against Damien Lapilus (9-3-1-1). Duffy, who is the only man on the face of the earth to hold victories over current UFC stars Conor McGregor and Norman Parke, makes his return to the cage for the first time since 2011. Between then and now, Duffy was testing the waters of a professional boxing career where he went 7-0 but has returned to mixed martial arts in the midst of that sports current worldwide boom.

Cage Warriors is known for being the proving ground for current Irish UFC stars Conor McGregor, Cathal Pendred, Paddy Holohan and Neil Seery.

Highly-rated Irish fighters Philip Mulpeter and Paul Redmond are also among those on the fight card for this August on what'll no doubt be an excellent night of hand to hand combat.
