For some of us, the practicalities of having an artificial Christmas tree outweigh the cons of having a real one.
You can use them over and over, thus minimising waste, you’re guaranteed the right shape instead of having to trawl through all Christmas trees on offer to find the perfect pear shaped one, and a lot of fake trees are of such high quality that they’re almost indistinguishable from real trees.
BUT there are a LOT of people for whom only the real thing will do, as nothing quite beats that natural texture and smell of a fresh Christmas tree.
Tweeter Madison Napoli's dad, for one, was completely unimpressed when his family suggested they get a fake tree for once. In fact, he was outright disgusted:
