"This has been a huge wake up call"

Vanessa Hudgens has issued an apology for comments she made about the coronavirus.

The actress was accused of being insensitive and irresponsible for what she said about the coronavirus on Monday during an Instagram live video.

Responding to the media saying a lockdown could last until July, she said: "Um, yeah, ’til July sounds like a bunch of bullshit.

"I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time, I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?"

She did backtrack a bit, and said, "I don’t know. Maybe I shouldn’t be doing this right now?

"Let’s help each other out rather than freaking the fuck out. Kk?"

Many were furious at Hudgens, and spoke out on Twitter.

Hudgens responded to the backlash yesterday. She said her comments were taken out of context.

She later issued an apology across social media.
