Val Kilmer has taken to Facebook to respond to Michael Douglas' claims that he was battling cancer.
As we reported earlier in the week, Douglas revealed during a Q&A with Jonathan Ross that Kilmer was suffering from the same form of cancer that Douglas himself had back in 2010.
"Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him," he said. "My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately."
Kilmer has had to repeatedly comment on his health after similar rumours in the past few years and Douglas' comments sent to rumour mill into overdrive once again. However, Kilmer posted on his official Facebook Page yesterday evening, clarifying that he was in good health and that Douglas was 'misinformed'.
"I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed. The last time I spoke to him was almost two years ago, when I asked him for a referral for a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play CITIZEN TWAIN. I ended up using a team at UCLA and have no cancer whatsoever. I still have a swollen tongue and am rehabbing steadily." the post began.
Kilmer goes on to welcome anyone that thinks he may be 'fibbing' to attend an event where'll he presenting his latest piece of work later in the month. He also went on to clarify that he held no grudge against Douglas for speculating on his health.
It's great to hear that Kilmer is in good health and here's hoping we'll see him back on our screens soon.
