Usher's eldest son is making a swift recovery and will be released from hospital in a few days according to TMZ, after he was rushed to hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after he almost drowned in a swimming pool when his hand got stuck in a drain
Raymond V, who's only five years old and had to be given CPR, is showing miraculous signs of recovery despite still being in the ICU, already sitting up in bed, eating, talking and laughing, but won't be released for a few more days as doctors want to continue monitoring him following the serious accident.
In what is every parent's nightmare, Raymond was playing in the water with his father's aunt when he dove down to retrieve a toy that was lying in the drain. His arm got stuck and the aunt and a maid were unable to free him. Two men, who were working at the property, jumped into the pool to get him out and he was then rushed to hospital by an ambulance.
Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, who currently only has limited custodial rights of Usher Jr. and his brother Naviyd, four, hasn't left his bedside since the accident and has now filed court documents in a bid to regain primary custody of the boys, claiming their father is an absent parent and relies on other people to care for their sons.
Usher has since issued a statement expressing his gratitude towards the 'true heroes' who dove into the pool to rescue his son, sayiing: 'I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them.
'I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family's well-being.'
