Since its inception, Twitter's 140 character limit has pretty much defined its service and strangled users who wanted to say a lot while also featuring media in their tweets. All that just changed forever though, as they just enabled a slew of updates that let's you add media to your tweets without sacrificing characters. In essence, the Twitter dream.
Previously announced in May, the new features have gone live immediately, which means that you can now ramble to your heart's content before adding in your chosen photos, videos, GIFs, polls and Quote Tweets, as explained below.
Say more about what's happening! Rolling out now: photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets no longer count toward your 140 characters. pic.twitter.com/I9pUC0NdZC

Unfortunately links still take away from those precious 140 characters but we guess you can't win them all.
To say the reaction to the update has been positive would be an understatement, and people are using the new features to show just how happy they are.
