"It was always a privilege and inspiration to work with him."
The comedy industry is still coming to terms that one of the most admirable comedians of our time has passed away.
Yesterday, news broke that comedian Sean Lock had passed away. The 58-year-old had had a long battle with cancer and he died at home surrounded by his family.
The stand-up comedian had enjoyed many years of TV show appearances, being a team captain on the series '8 Out of 10 Cats', as well as its spin-off '8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown'.
He also made countless appearances on various panel shows and game shows, including 'The Last Leg', 'QI', and 'The Big Fat Quiz of the Year'.
The comedian worked closely with comedians Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey, Lee Evans and Lee Mack among others.
A statement from his agent Off the Kerb Productions reads: "Sean was one of Britain’s finest comedians, his boundless creativity, lightning wit and the absurdist brilliance of his work, marked him out as a unique voice in British comedy."
Comedians who worked with the comic have paid tribute to Sean Lock. Here is what David Mitchell, Alan Davies, Aisling Bea, Paddy McGuinness and many more have shared online. Many of his colleagues and friends have also shared their favourite moments and jokes featuring the comedian, as well as some rather hilarious anecdotes about him.
Tonight, Channel 4 pay tribute to Sean Lock. His stand-up special 'Sean Lock: Keep it Light' will air at 10 pm, followed by a classic episode of '8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown' highlighting some of the comedian's best bits at 11 pm.
