Believe it or not, Ireland is one of the few countries in Europe that doesn't have an indigenous porn industry. Shocker, we know.

It might have something to do with the fact that, well, we're all prudes or something. Or maybe it's since high-speed broadband became a reality for us all about ten years ago.

In any case, one man (we're assuming) is attempting to launch Ireland's porn industry and he's been gauging interest for it online.

Reddit user 'irishkinkdotcom' - which we expect will be the name of the website - claims that he has a location, some ideas and some willing actors and wants to begin work.

And even as a testament to how Irish the whole thing he is, he doesn't "intend on making millions" from the endeavour, but rather to provide "a product that doesn't exist."

He's somewhat correct - a cursory glance (ahem) at any of the major websites shows that Irish porn is almost non-existent, so he has a point there.

The porn industry across the pond in the US is said to generate billions in revenue and the same goes for mainland Europe.

We're all adults here and we can come at this (stop laughing) from a logical and rational standpoint.

People watch porn and it's a normal part of any sexual development. But would nationality enter into it? Or do you even care?

Ireland has no porn industry primarily because this country is a small village so there's a better than average chance you're going to see someone you know involved.

What do you think? Would this work? Let us know in the comments!
