Escape games have been taking the world by storm in recent years and if you haven't tried one yet, you've likely had a friend trying to convince you to.

The idea behind it is pretty simple, you're locked in a room and need to find a way out, however to do so you will need to solve multiple puzzles of every variety that will make you feel a bit like MacGyver in an episode of 'The Crystal Maze'. In summary, it's great craic.

The latest escape game to launch in Ireland comes to the Adventures Rooms in Dublin, who are already operating three different games across their Little Britain Street and Green Street premises.

MAFIA is the most recent challenge they have developed to give you a taste of just what it might feel like to be trying to escape the clutches of Al Capone and the gang back in the day. The premise is that you have been captured by the Big Boss who has called a meeting to decide on how to "deal with you" - a sleeping with the fishes sort of chat. You have one hour to find your way out or....!! Well, you lose and somebody will come let you out but use your imagination here folks and get into this, Sopranos style.

We can't tell you anything about what happens once your inside the room but we will say that you and your team will have a lot of fun trying to work your way out of there. It really feels like it activates a part of your brain you didn't know was there as you use all of your wits and wiles to get out.

Top tips? Listen to each other. It's all about some good old-fashioned team work inside that room. Somebody's crazy answer to a clue could be just what you need to solve something else five minutes later. All the puzzles make sense and honestly, you'll get such a buzz when you solve one you'll want to be calling NASA afterwards asking if they need any more problem solving minds for their missions.

And even if you don't make it out (only about 30% do) you'll still have had such a blast trying that you will be dying to go again.

MAFIA can be played from anywhere between four to twelve players. You'll find everything you need to know about booking and prices over on Adventurerooms.ie.
