The BBC have been working on a feature-length drama about the creation of the Grand Theft Auto video game series, but the production process has hit a slight speed bump as it seems Rockstar are not very happy.
The project, entitled Game Changer, already apparently had Daniel Radcliffe and Bill Paxton on board to star, with Radcliffe playing Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser and Paxton as Jack Thompson, a lawyer who campaigned against the game for being too obscene and promoting violence.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar has not taken kindly to the way that the BBC are going about making the project, stating that Rockstar haven't had any involvement so far and that they want to be able to ensure that their story is portrayed accurately.
In a statement about the lawsuit, Take-Two said "we have attempted multiple times to resolve this matter with the BBC without any meaningful resolution. It is our obligation to protect our intellectual property and unfortunately in this case litigation was necessary". According to Shortlist, the BBC have stated that they won't comment on legal matters, so there's no word on whether or not the shooting, which started back in April, has been affected as a result.
